OLIS launches new oat processing plant in Dnipro region

Olis has commissioned an oat processing plant in the Dnipro region. This information was shared by Vladimir Cheglatonev, Commercial Director of OLIS LLC, in an exclusive commentary at the Grain Processors Forum 2019.

This plant has a capacity of 60 tonnes per day for processing oats into groats and 32 tonnes per day for producing oat flakes. This line is versatile and allows us to produce flakes not only from oats, but also from other cereals such as buckwheat, wheat, barley, etc.

OLIS developed the design documentation for the technical part of the groats mill, manufactured and supplied a set of technological, transport and aspiration equipment, and carried out commissioning and adjustment works. The entire project was completed on a turnkey basis.

“Currently, oats are a very promising crop, and according to analysts, there is a tendency to increase the consumption of flakes in Ukraine and globally. Therefore, this area has a certain potential for further development. Processed foods in general and flakes in particular are an investment in the future. As practice shows, only those companies that do not have their own land are engaged in processing. They manage to operate and develop, and they have markets… So why shouldn’t holdings and large farms pay attention to the processing business? This will provide them with much higher profits than from grain sales,” summed up V. Cheglatonev.
